Ready-to-use kits for early literacy (EL)
Our ÉLÉ kits are designed for use by early childhood professionals, whether in one-on-one sessions or group activities. Each kit contains five books as well as a wide range of educational materials, including numerous activities to do with the children.
JAME has developed 23 resource kits in French and 6 in English, all designed to address the needs expressed by its early childhood partners. The complete list is available below.
Reading Support Kits
JAME has created two beautiful reading guides for early childhood educators. These guides, developed in collaboration with partners, are designed to help facilitate reading sessions for young children using two specific books.
You'll find tips, discussion ideas, language activities, and a wide range of supplementary activities.
These guides were created as part of the “Livre-moi” early reading awareness week, an event organized in the partner neighborhoods of Petite-Bourgogne and Saint-Henri, but are now available to the public. So feel free to use them!

Did you know that our children's literature collection contains over 6,000 books?
Each year, between 300 and 400 new titles are added to our library, thanks in part to donations from publishers and several JAME members.
In addition, we regularly purchase new books based on recommendations from our volunteers, new releases, and the values we wish to promote: books featuring characters from diverse backgrounds, books written by Indigenous authors, a variety of non-fiction titles, humorous books, activity books, and more.
We also have a small collection of more “specialized” books for children with various learning disabilities, as well as for the volunteers who work with them.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover “textless” books, sound books, and many others that are truly unique, such as ribbon books and slanted books… Has this piqued your curiosity?!

Did you know that volunteers and children worked together to create 15 original children's books?
